Doctors in San Diego recently fitted a baby giraffe with leg braces so that she could walk. Several months ago, when Mitsui the baby giraffe was born, the San Diego Zoo noticed something was odd with her. The giraffe's front legs were bent wrong when she was born. They called a doctor specializing in leg braces for kids, and he designed an oversized set for Mitsui.
Giraffes learn to walk with leg braces so they can keep up with the herd and eat from their mothers. After three months, the braces worked, and Mitsui could now walk well.
